Guess what most of these photos have in them? Yes, arches or bridges, of which there are at least 2,000 of in Arches National Park. We spent a couple hours there yesterday, and hiked two short trails to view some of them. It is another beautiful Utah National Park, with red rock, arches, and other unusual rock formations. We liked this, called Balanced Rock. The pile of fallen rock to the right of it is called Chip Off the Old Block, having once been a smaller balanced rock, which toppled over in 1975.
Here is what it looked like prior to ‘75.
We also hiked to the Natural Bridges area.
Saw some interesting things along the trail, other than arches.
Plan to go back to the park to do some more hiking over the next few days. It has been raining this morning, for the first time in a long time, and we are having trouble adjusting to the 63% humidity, having acclimated to the 15-20% that we normally have here. That’s one thing we sure don’t miss about Florida.
