Last Images From Utah

After the Subway hike, we didn’t do anything else quite as strenuous during the rest of our time in Virgin, but we did go back into Zion National Park a couple more times for a pleasant walk on the Riverwalk and Pa’rus trails.

This guy thought he was hiding but most of its body was on the trail.

On our last day we took a lovely 17 mile bike ride from the Zion visitor center to the end of the canyon. This year the shuttle buses in the park are still running daily through November 13, so it was like we had the road to ourselves as we were only passed by the buses a few times. The crowds in the park dropped considerably after last weekend. We all agreed this is probably the most scenic bike ride we’ve ever done.

It was a gorgeous night for our last group walk from our site. We will miss this beautiful backyard.

It’s always bittersweet leaving friends but nice to move on after being in the same place for awhile. Currently we’re spending a few days in Nevada on our way to Arizona, where we found a little more red rock to ease the transition.

  1. Some of my favorite shots so far - soooo beautiful. I especially like the one above the Guacamole Trail pic. Pretty snake, not a very good hider though :-)

  3. Lovely, lovely photos!! We've never ridden our bikes into the canyon. We'll have to do this next time we visit with the shuttle running. Isn't it interesting how much longer (and earlier) the shuttle is running now!! Not good!!! I've never heard of the Guacamole Trail. Will have to check this out, as well! Sure looks like a good time with friends:)

  5. OMG, what beautiful country! Your photos are stunning. I can see why you were reluctant to leave such a magical place.
