Losing a Friend
Yesterday I received the sad news that my oldest and dearest friend Joann, in Erie, PA, had been killed in a bicycle accident. It was ironic that we were on our way to watch the time trials in the Tour of the Gila, then go for a hike, since cycling and hiking were two of her favorite activities. In fact we passed by the above memorial to a fallen cyclist just moments after I got the news.
My heart aches for her long-time partner and our good friend, Joe, her mom, brothers and the rest of the family.
Rest in peace, my friend. I will miss you always.
