Sand Hollow State Park, UT

P5020050

Just spent the night at Sand Hollow State Park near Hurricane, Utah to get some laundry and grocery shopping done before heading to Zion. It is a very nice park and we got a great site with views of the lake. After dry camping all week, we sprung for the full hook-up sites for $25. You can primitive camp along the beach but it was fairly windy and we had all the blowing sand we could take at Lone Rock Beach.

Made the short 30 mile drive to Zion today and we are still in awe. It is absolutely beautiful here, and the Watchman Campground is much nicer than we had expected.  Also met a group of 6 Lazy Daze people from California and Utah who are camped near us.

Walked around the campgrounds and along a trail by the Virgin River. It is amazing how many people are here. Looks like both camping areas are nearly full, and there are lots of European tourists and rental RV’s. Looking forward to our week here. More in a few days…
